Location: Wabash Communications Service Area (Southeastern Illinois)
Status: Part-Time
Pay: $16 – $18 / hour
Regular Hours:
- Fall/Spring: Approximately 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Winter: Approximately 3:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Summer: Hours vary based on event schedule
Job Summary:
Produce 4–7 live high school sports broadcasts each week during the school year, including basketball, volleyball, football, and baseball. During the summer months, host a variety of live events, including rodeos, plays, bowling tournaments, pageants, demolition derbies, and livestock auctions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct live sports and event broadcasts
- Coordinate camera shots and communicate with the production crew during live productions
- Ensure a smooth, professional live stream for viewers
- Transport and set up a live production trailer at various event locations
- Shoot and edit commercials
- Develop original programming with access to two broadcast studios and professional production equipment
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in live production, broadcasting, or media
- Ability to lead a team and make quick decisions in a live environment
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the service area
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends based on event schedules
- Prior experience in video production or directing is preferred but not required
